Donating
Used Cars For A Cause! A Way To Get Money From Back From Uncle
Sam
In this day of modern technology, our society has created
an excess of goods which in most cases people find difficult
to get rid of. Many of us are wisely gathering the fruits
of our modern world. However, there are still some people
in the world that continue to have a disadvantage when it
comes being able to get a piece of the modern world. We need
to consider sharing some of our fortunes with the unfortunate.
There are hundreds of things that you can donate to those
who have financial burden and hardship. As the numbers of
people who are obstructed from obtaining the same wealth as
we are, it is a good idea to give them some help. Giving up
things that you no longer are using or has been sitting in
the back of a closet is a great idea. Remember, your unwanted
items could make all the difference in someone else’s lives.
In this day and age, having a mode of transportation is ever
so important. Even though there is some public transportation
available, there are places that do not have it. More than
70 percent of American’s own their own cars, either through
leasing or paying their monthly car payment. There are still
about 20 percent of Americans who cannot afford their own
vehicles. There are a lot of people out there who are really
doing something about this by donating their used car.
If you are planning on purchasing a new vehicle you have several
options when deciding what the heck you are going to do with
the old one. If you don’t need the trade in or if you have
a car that is not worth trading because it needs too much
work on it, then you need to consider the option of donating
it. This donation can be made to a charitable organization
which in turn will really help someone out. Not to mention
that you also will get a great big tax write off for Uncle
Sam.
There are many places that you can donate your old car. There
are usually used car donation centers in every city. There
are also many charitable organizations out there (the cancer
society, kars for kids, and donate a car just to name a few).
These donation centers and organizations usually will pick
up your vehicle free of charge, prepare the title transfer
requirement and take care of any and all legal documents that
need to be taken care of to clear the ownership of the car.
They will also provide you with a tax deductible donation
receipt once they come and pick of the car.
Once your car is donated, the organization that picked it
up will refurbish the vehicle into working order. Once the
car is ready, they then set out to determine who is eligible
to receive a car. They have to go through a long list of applicants
that are in need of a vehicle. The applicants must have proof
of the inability to be able to afford to purchase a vehicle
on their own. Those applicants who have a clear credit report
and can prove that they cannot afford to purchase a vehicle
are usually the ones that end up receiving the car. The organizations
then make sure that the transfer of the title and all the
legal requirements are taken care of and ultimately the unfortunate
applicant has had a little bit of fortune shine upon them.
So, the next time you are looking to get rid of an old car,
take a look at the option of donation. Not only do you get
a great tax write off, but you will be helping out someone
who could really use it.
